Hello everyone, this is Dr Devendra Pal Singh as we are continuing the topic suppression. I will tell you how to repertorise symptoms of suppression and make its use in clinical approach and treating the chronic cases.
Today we will discuss rubrics of PHATAK’S REPERTORY on the topic suppression. Now phatak is a alphabetical repertory, created by dr phatak. And the rubrics you find in this repertory are very rare, you don’t find them in traditional repertories. You should understand the approach of dr phatak to understand it. To use it you follow the approach of grand generalization but with its peculiarity. Means you should have a generalize way of looking the case attached with its peculiarity. You can also learn about phatak repertory if you see YOUTUBE video of dr Gaurang Gaikwad on Phatak Homeopathic repertory, he can tell you about it better than me.
But what I have learnt from phatak repertory that it has most of the rubrics are individualizing single remedy. Means you will find very less remedies in rubrics. Mostly one or two or five or ten ….. so less chance of getting confused. It very easy in its language so easy to comprehend easy to remember.
Please read all these rubrics. Try to understand them. I will give you some examples how patient tell about suppression.

EG 1 a case comes of menningitis high fever, patient in collapse condition and you find nothing peculiar, look for some history and patient said the child had recurrent episodes of ottorrhea or any discharge treated with allopathy. So now you have to see rubric ¬ C – Cerebro-spinal axis – fever – suppressed discharges, from: (1) stram.

EG 2 a case comes to you of epilepsy, and in history you find that he was a patient of goitre and thyroidectomy was done…. And since then he is having convulsions. So now you need to see the rubric
C – Convulsions, spasms – goitre suppression, after: (1) iod.

EG 3 an acute case of comes to us of vomiting when you ask the patient he is a known case of recurrent urticaria and was on antihistaminic drugs life time. And now there is no urticaria but this vomiting is not relieved even from antiemetics. So now see the rubric – V – Vomiting – urticaria, suppressed from: (1) urt-u.

EG 3 a case of hypothyroidism came to us when you ask the history of the patient we find hysterectomy done, or you see an unnatural absence of menses from a very long time. And after that all the symptoms like constipation, fatigue, obesity, vertigo all came… so you need to see the rubric G – Goitre – menses – suppressed, from: (2) ferr. ferr-i.

EG 4 a case of chronic migraine. Where patient wanted somebody to give company during her headache. In her history nothing came but cauterization of warts many times was present. so we used the rubric
W – Warts – suppressed: (4) meny. nit-ac. staph. thuj. The case was cured by menyanthes.

REMEMBER WHEN YOU SEE ANY CASE OF THYROIDISM (HYPO, HYPER, SUBLINICAL HYPO, SUBCLINICAL HYPER) IN OLD REPERTORIES LIKE KENT, BBCR, CLARKE, PHATAK, BOERICKE, KNERR YOU WILL NOT FIND TERMINOLOGY LIKE HYPERTHYROIDISM, OR HYPOTHYROIDISM, BUT YOU CAN USE THE RUBRICS AND SYMPTOMS OF GOITRE WHERE EVER GIVEN TO SOLVE YOUR CASE.
